Elaine has been waiting for her forever home for well over a year, please help us find her forever home ?

We were asked to help with a large colony in Westport in Oct 2022. There were 26 cats that we trapped and vetted. We returned 8 cats fully vetted and kept the remaining 18 to find them indoor homes. Many were kittens or cats that needed further medical care such as dentals or they had ear infections. One of those cats was Elaine. She was likely the matriarch of the colony and she had been through a lot. The vet estimated her to be 9 yrs old then, so now 10.5 yrs old.

Her mouth was full of infection and she had painful broken teeth and lots of inflammation. She ended up having all her teeth removed. She was pretty feral and terrified of people.

A year later she walks around her foster room freely, sleeps on the bed and cuddles up with her foster mom and the other foster cats, many whom have come and gone in the past year.

We are hoping to find an extra special home for Elaine. A home that is ok that it might take some time for her to come around to you, a home that has another cat or two that Elaine can cuddle up with. She LOVES other cats! If she feels uncomfortable she will express it with an uncomfortable sounding meow or a hiss but otherwise she is the sweetest cat. She loves cuddles and pets. At night she’s like’s to sleep next to your feet and cuddle with her friend. She's especially bonded to Angel. For a 10.5 year old cat she certainly doesn’t act like it. She enjoys playing and sun bathing in the morning. She has made a good friend in her foster home and would love to get adopted with her bff named Angel - another young momma cat from a local barn colony.
