Eeyore is a very special boy and although not special needs he will require a special adopter.  Eeyore came to Furry Friends Rescue in June 2023, with severe eye infections, multiple parasites, upper respiratory infections and developed bronchitis.  This wide eyed handsome young fella has been incredibly resilient and a little fighter getting through rough times.

Eeyore is a very sweet fun boy who loves to play, is friendly and very snuggly as he cuddles with his foster mom during the night.  He loves to buzz in and out of the tunnel, swatting balls around in track toys, chasing the laser light, batting at anything that dangles, whacking toy mice and springs, and enjoys the company of other cats.  He is curious and bounds up the cat tower seeing what mischief he can get at.

Eeyore usually likes to be in whatever room of his foster mom and will even wake up from a nap to go see what his foster mom is up to.  When he isn’t playing he’ll wind up napping behind his foster mom as she works.  He LOVES his canned food and it’s extremely important that he get canned food daily mixed with water as he will not drink water, but does find water amusing as he watches the shower and water fountain for entertainment.  He's a bit of a social dry food eater as he mostly will eat it if another cat is next to him or his foster mom is near by.

He does well with the adult cats in the home but misses his sisters who were adopted and would love a playmate.  Although he respects the adults space most of the time, if they do run or are active he does try to play with them.  He could use a younger playmate to keep him occupied when he wants to play.  Consider Furry Friends teen Blazer as a playmate for Eeyore.

What makes him require a special adopter?  Eeyore developed a grade 3 heart murmur at 8-9  weeks old.  He has been to a cardiologist twice and at his November visit his heart murmur was detected at a grade 2.  The good news is the 3 months between the 2 echocardiograms he hadn’t gotten worse and was given a good prognosis.  He has partial minimally obstructive partition in the right atrium consistent with Cor Triatium Dexter.  He is on no medication and acts every bit a normal teen and showing no signs of issues. An adopter would be required to take him in yearly for an echocardiogram to monitor his progression.

His big eyes will make you melt, his snuggles will make you sleep better, his playing will make you chuckle, his resilience will make you adore him!  Since he does follow his foster mom around he can be underfoot and follows her to the door, we are saying no young children.  No dogs.   He is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, fiv/felv tested negative.
