Ed's Story

Meet Ed — a special-needs guy with a whole lot of personality and very clear opinions.

Ed is a classic “on my terms” cat. He enjoys attention when he asks for it, but he’s not a fan of being picked up and prefers to keep his independence. His previous owner believed he was deaf (though we’re not totally convinced), and he does have Cerebellar Hypoplasia- AKA 'wobbly disease', so he’ll need a patient, understanding home that can accommodate his unique needs.

Because Ed is front declawed and has special needs, he must be a strictly indoor cat to keep him safe. He has never lived with other animals. He’s cat curious — we’ve seen him puff up at a cat through a window without growling — but he’d need slow, careful introductions if another cat were involved. We don’t think he’d be a big fan of dogs.

Kids 10 and up may be okay as long as they respect his space and let him do his thing. Ed is neutered, microchipped, and FELV/FIV negative, and he’s looking for a calm, experienced home that appreciates a cat with boundaries, quirks, and character. If you’re the kind of person who respects consent and loves a cat who chooses you, Ed might be your perfect match.
