This mellow sweetheart was rescued from the Hwy 162 trailer park at just 2 months of age. She came to us sick with chronic eye issues. But, after months of care, meds, and eye surgery...she's now healed and thriving!!<br/>Her right eye still waters occasionally and may need future checkups. But it doesn't slow her down one bit.<br/>Eclipse is laid-back, super affectionate, and loves snuggling right under your chin. Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy

When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.

Our Mission

The mission of the Erath County Humane Society is to care for unwanted and lost animals, reunite lost animals with their owners and find homes for adoptable pets. We work closely with our community to decrease pet overpopulation and to provide a safe place for animals as they await their permanent homes.
