Ebeneezer's Story

Ebeneezer came to us a little roughed up, but he's now healthy and ready to find his forever home. He has a recessed eye, which does not bother him or slow him down one bit. This friendly guy absolutely loves pets and attention, but he's not a fan of being picked up or held-he prefers to keep all four paws on the ground.
Ebeneezer is a sweet, social, and very vocal boy who will happily follow you from room to room just to be near his people. He loves sleeping in bed with you at night and enjoys playtime with his ball track and wand toys. He's playful, affectionate, and thrives on companionship.
In his foster home, Ebeneezer did well with the resident cats. With cats smaller than him, he may try to assert a little dominance at first, but he eventually settled in and even adored the babies. He does not challenge cats his own size or larger. When one foster cat made it clear they didn't like him, Ebeneezer remained calm and non-aggressive.
He is not a fan of overly energetic dogs, and while we're unsure how he would do with calmer dogs, slow and proper introductions would be important.
Ebeneezer is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. If you're looking for a loving, playful companion who enjoys affection (without being carried around), Ebeneezer might be your perfect match.

Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.
