Earl's Story
Meet Earl! Earl is around 10 years old. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Earl is a special needs cat. He has tested positive for FeLV, and is looking to find a home where he is the only cat. He must be indoor only. If you would like to meet Earl, please ask staff for an introduction, as he is housed separately from the other cats. He would love to meet you!

Earl came to HSoP in rough shape. He was underweight, had a cold, and was in desperate need of a dental. We were able to get him the care he needed, and now he is ready to find his forever home!

Earl is a sweet old man. His favorite things in life are his soft bed, his wet food (specifically he enjoys the meaty bits / shreds variety), and getting attention. He is very social and likes to spend time with his people. He enjoys a relaxed lifestyle, lounging about and getting his wet food delivered to him. Earl is known to give very ferocious headbutts if you try to stop petting him. When he's comfortable in his environment, he becomes quite chatty as well! Even with his FeLV diagnosis, Earl has done great at HSoP. He's put on weight and recovered well from his dental surgery.

We recommend doing some research into FeLV before adopting an FeLV+ cat. FeLV is a retrovirus that compromises a cat's immune system, making them more vulnerable to disease. They can be medically complex, and though Earl is currently thriving, he will require more care than an average cat. It is transmissible to other cats through saliva, blood, feces and urine, so we are looking for a single-cat household for Earl to retire in. If you would like to discuss Earl and his care, feel free to give us a call! HSoP staff would be happy to answer any questions about Earl, to help him find the loving home he deserves.

If you would like to meet Earl, feel free to stop by any time we're open! Our open hours are 2pm-6pm Monday-Saturday. Dog kennels close at 5pm and adoptions end at 5:30pm
