Dusty: Pet of the Week!'s Story

Dusty is about 6-8 months old.

He and Portia came into the shelter a couple months ago (we called them Calvin and Hobbes back then when their eyes were bugging out) and went into a foster home right away to begin socialization, and wow, they have really transformed into lovely cats.

They are now back at the shelter ready to find their forever homes.

Dusty is the more outgoing and confident of the duo. He's super friendly and so handsome. He's ready to live a big, cushy life with someone who adores him.

Portia is still reserved, being more of a hider, but she enjoys being petted and would do well in a quiet home or with someone who doesn't expect her to be a "greeter" kitty.

Call 913-335-0788 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Visit the facility at 510 Organ Ave. 11-4 MWF.

Email fortleavenworthstrayfacility@gmail.com for an adoption application.

Featured in the Nov. 26, 2025, issue of the Fort Leavenworth Lamp.
