Hi, I’m Dusty. I’ve been in foster care for over a year, and I’ve come a very long way. Thanks to my patient foster family and daily Prozac, I’ve learned that people might actually be okay! I’m still shy and skittish, but now I ask for pets, follow my humans around, and show more of my sweet personality every day.<br/><br/>I’ve also had an important job as foster sister to more than 10 kittens. I’ve watched them come, grow, and find their forever families. I get a little sad when they leave, but I love welcoming each new kitten and taking care of them.<br/><br/>One important thing to know about me: I am NOT going to impress you at a meet-and-greet. I’ll probably hiss, hide, and be pretty unimpressed with you. New people are scary, and I need time to feel safe. My adopter will need to be patient and let me settle into my new home at my own pace. Once I’m comfortable, you’ll see the Dusty my foster family knows: affectionate, curious, and eager to be part of the family.<br/><br/>I’m also FIV positive, but I’ve lived happily with 10+ kittens and other cats for over a year. I don’t pick fights, so I should do well with a friendly cat who respects my space. I’d probably be happy with a respectful dog, too!<br/><br/>My dream forever home:<br/>• A quiet, calm home<br/>• No tiny humans, please<br/>• A patient family who understands that trust takes time<br/>• A friendly cat or respectful dog would be a plus<br/>• Lots of windows, toys, and treats<br/><br/>My foster mom believes I'll truly blossom once I have a home of my own.
