Hi! My name is Duke. I was rescued from a hoarding situation, but that did not alter my friendly and affectionate personality. I did test positive for FIV, probably the result of living as a part-time outdoor cat. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives (indoors) and cannot pass this on to humans or dogs. However, FIV can be passed on to other cats by way of a puncture bite wound, so it is recommended that I be the only cat in the home.<br/><br/>I’m a big guy who can definitely pull off the name “Duke,” which is associated with strength and nobility. But inside I’m just a cat who wants to be loved and find a forever home he never has to leave.
