Like his sister, he was born with eyelid agenesis, a congenital condition that affects the eyelids. Unlike Sonny, Ducky has not had eye-removal surgery, and instead is comfortably managed with daily eye cleaning and lubrication to keep him feeling his best. Ducky is a bit shy at first, but once he feels safe, his sweetness shines through. He is loving, gentle, and incredibly tender with the people he trusts. With patience and reassurance, Ducky blossoms into a devoted companion who enjoys quiet company, soft voices, and calm affection. This special boy is searching for a peaceful, loving home that can continue his simple eye-care routine and offer the safety and stability he deserves. Wet Noses Rescue's Adoption Policy

First, adopters must fill out our online application at wetnosesrescue.org. If approved, there is a phone interview and virtual home check. We are a shelter based in Punta de Mita, Mexico, and also operate in San Diego. We understand that it can be challenging to meet our animals in person due to the distance. However, we have a process in place to ensure a smooth adoption experience. Most of our animals are located at our shelter in Punta de Mita. We frequently arrange transportation for our animals up the West Coast of the USA (San Francisco, Seattle, etc.) and the Western Provinces of Canada (Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, etc.). To help you get a better sense of the animals, we can offer additional photos, videos, and even schedule video calls. Please see our Google Reviews (https://goo.gl/maps/aDbyG4vW9YWNTs4d7) for some of our adoptive families' experiences. We are a volunteer run organization, and a flight angel would accompany them. This area is a touristy area, and many people like to volunteer in various ways to support the community, and especially support the neglected animals finding good homes. To secure flights, it generally takes us between 1-4 weeks once an animal is ready to go home.
