Duchess's Story
Duchess is a 6 year old spayed female, shorthair, torbie with white cat.

Duchess was adopted from us as a kitten and then recently returned to us as an adult. She was returned to to us due to developing aggression towards her owners in the home. We are not sure why. It could be from her being an only pet in the home and she had anxiety.

She has spent a few months in a quiet, calm foster home to decompress and learn a routine. She was initially very untrusting of her foster parent and displayed fear aggression, however over time and with some encouragement through play, Duchess learned to trust and enjoyed being petted. She is very affectionate and enjoys having her back stroked.

Duchess will need a cat-savy family who has experience interacting with cats who may be swatty or growly in order to communicate her wants and needs.

She is even open to short moments of being picked up and given snuggles, though she needs the option to be set down again if she desires.

When she craves attention, she will let you know by placing her front paws on you.

She loves playing with toys, especially the dangler toys with bells. These help her relax and be at ease with people.

She has lived with other calm cats in her foster home and while she wants her space respected, she seems to appreciate the company at times.

Her adoption fee is $200

All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, negative for FIV&felv, and have been treated for parasites.

----

If you are interested in applying, please send us an inquiry through Petfinder or email us at:
ballots@fairpoint.net

Please do not call our hotline about these cat as email works best.

———-
PAR volunteers accept applications and upon pre-approval, a PAR volunteer will facilitate the visit with the adoptable cat.

We do not do visits unless the application has been pre-approved first.

PetSmart Associates do not facilitate visits at the store.

Please watch our FaceBook page for adoption event postings happening at the PetSmart in Sunrise Village, Puyallup.
