Drew (Diabetic Remission)'s Story

Drew came to DunRoamin' on August 7, 2024 from a local shelter. Born about May 19, 2022, he had been accepted there, but had been diagnosed with diabetes. As the shelter could not house a cat who required insulin twice daily, he came to us as his only alternative for life. He was already neutered before his arrival.

Drew is a beautiful little boy. He loves to fist bump with his head, and his huge eyes glow with intelligence. He requires a very minimal dose currently, only 0.5 units of Lantus insulin twice daily. He eats a diabetic hard food and Fancy Feast chicken or feast canned cat food. He LOVES to be brushed.

Drew's blood glucose levels are well on the way to being stabilized, and he will be so very anxious to go to a new home where he can be a best friend to the human(s) who will love and care for him for the rest of his life. He is settling in well, but he would like stability of home and family - it will be his fondest wish, which will hopefully come true very soon. He is fully up to date on his vaccines, tested negative for FIV and FeLV and is treated for all parasites. If you'd like to meet this little boy, please drop us a line!
