Doug's Story

Meet Doug, a roughly one year old male tuxedo cat with a soft heart, a fluffy coat, and a very serious love for treats. Doug is deeply treat-motivated and has made it his mission to politely (but persistently) demand snacks during your morning coffee routine. Consider him your built-in barista supervisor.

Doug is a dedicated window watcher, happily spending time observing birds, squirrels, and the outside world. He’s quiet and very shy at first, preferring to assess situations from a safe distance—but with patience, consistency, and treats, he slowly blossoms into a sweet, trusting companion.

Doug does not love dogs and would do best in a calm home or one where dogs respect feline boundaries. He tolerates older kids and being manhandled surprisingly well for a shy cat, making him a good fit for a gentle family that understands he may need some space from time to time.

However, once he’s comfortable with his new humans you will find him by your side looking for love and attention at all times! Even when you’re in bed and he’s trying to be so close to you he’s decided to sleep on your pillow!

He’s a little shy around the man in his current foster home so may need a little patience with any new men in his life but he is making good progress in the meantime!

Best fit:
Doug is going to do wonderfully in a home with another friendly and playful kitty! A patient home that values calm moments, cozy routines, and treat-based bonding will help Doug thrive.

If you’re looking for a gentle soul who will quietly steal your heart (and your treats), Doug is ready!

Doug is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and is FIV/FeLV negative.

*To apply for Doug (if you have a friendly cat at home!) , please visit our website to view our adoption guidelines and fill out our application at catcallsrescue.org/adopt * for

Catcalls Rescue's Adoption Policy
Please thoroughly read the following information about adopting a Catcalls Rescue cat/kitten before applying. Must be 21+ to apply. Fill out the form thoroughly. The more information you provide, the better! Incomplete forms will not be considered. Please do not apply on a whim! Out of consideration for the time and energy of our volunteers, we ask that you apply only when certain that you are ready and able to adopt. We cannot hold cats/kittens for adoption. Kittens do best when they have a friend! Kittens must be adopted in pairs or to homes with existing pets. All current pets in applicants’ homes must be spayed and neutered and up to date on vaccines. Cats in the home must be FIV/FeLV tested. Safety is a priority at Catcalls Rescue, so a virtual or in-person home check will be completed prior to adoption to make sure your furry friend will be safe and comfortable in their new environment! All Catcalls Rescue cats and kittens come with health records and are dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, FIV/FeLV tested, and microchipped. Please note that due to a high volume of applications, you may not receive a response. We will reach out to applicants that are best suited for each feline within one week of receiving their application. **Emails asking us if we have received apps only slows up the process for everyone. We can't respond to those any faster than we can respond to a good application! Please keep that in mind! If you are the best fit for our kitties, you will absolutely hear from us! Thank you!**
