Dot's Story

Hi, I’m Dot! I’m a pretty white kitten with a cute round "dot" on my back—my brother has one too, so we match! I’m part of a litter of four, and while I’m on the quiet side, I’m definitely not shy. I love to wrestle with my siblings, and I can even hold my own with my foster family’s playful 2-year-old Havanese, who thinks watching over us kittens is his job. I’m brave, gentle, and always up for some fun.

I have a silly little habit of burrowing under blankets—it’s my favorite cozy spot. I also adore cuddles, tummy rubs, and ear scratches. Give me a warm lap and a soft blanket, and I’m in heaven. I’d fit right in with a family that already has cats, dogs, or both. If you’re looking for a sweet, quirky cuddle bug, I’d love to be your new best friend.

Almost Home adopts kittens under 6 months of age in pairs, as kittens that young are not fully socialized and need a same/similar-age playmate in order not to become a nuisance to family members—including other pets in the home. Adopting kittens in pairs allows them to complete the kitty socialization process, learn good kitty manners, and have a playmate so their humans can sleep at night. We consider adopting single kittens to applicants who have another young kitty under 1 year of age, provided the applicant’s kitten is up to date on all age-appropriate vetting.

Almost Home's Adoption Requirements:
* Be at least 21 years of age
* Have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household
* Have written approval from owner of residence
* Have a valid government-issued photo ID with current address
* Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Almost Home Foundation
* Be ready to make a lifetime commitment
* Live in the greater Chicagoland area (Illinois residents only)
* Pass a veterinarian reference check for current and past pets

If you are interested in Dot & a sibling, please complete an online adoption application at https://almosthomefoundation.org/adopt/adopt-a-cat/ or email cats@almosthomefoundation.org.

*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash, checks, or Zelle for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***
