Meet Dorothy & Sophia

Meet the two sweet sisters, Dorothy and Sophia. They were very sick when found as kittens living in a falling down garage. They both had severe upper respiratory issues and very bad eye infections. Sophia was much worse than Dorothy with her eyes so swollen we weren’t sure she would be able to keep them. With proper vet care she did recover but it has left some scar tissue on her right eye. Although this doesn’t bother her she does, at times, have some clear tears from it that are easily wiped away.
They both also had gastrointestinal issues that have been addressed and treated over the time they have been with the rescue. Currently they are eating Hill's Science Diet Adult Sensitive Stomach & Sensitive Skin Grain Free Dry Cat Food, Salmon & Yellow Pea Recipe as well as a small amount of Earthborn wet food a day with probiotics and fiber mixed in.
They both are very friendly but do take a little time to warm up to new people and situations. Sophia enjoys jumping up on your lap and meowing for pets and will even give you kisses. Dorothy is a little more reserved but will hop up on the couch beside you to lay down for belly rubs. She enjoys being petted but will use her two big front paws to push you away from kissing her. Her foster mom steals some kisses anyway and Dorothy just gives her a side eyed look. They enjoy the catnip mice and catnip stuffies to play with and wand toys to try and catch the prize. When meeting new friends sometimes Dorothy and Sophia will hiss but with time and slow introduction they become good friends.
They are bonded to one another and will need to be adopted together. Out of a house of many cats they always choose to lay together, groom one another and play together. They are about 2 years old. Both are polydactyl on front and back so will be very important to trim their nails every 3-4 weeks. Sophia has an even more special back foot that has two toes together as one. They both are good about being held by one person while the other person trims their nails.
They are looking for their forever home that will give them the love and attention they deserve.
