Dorothy Dietrich's Story
Is a soft, fluffy blanket your kryptonite? Dorothy Dietrich might just be your perfect match. Originally from a high-kill shelter, Dorothy arrived as a pregnant momma cat — and she quickly proved she’s full of surprises. She earned her nickname “the escape artist” when, still pregnant, she slipped out of her foster room, popped up through a floor air conditioning grate, and set up camp in the ductwork under the house! Thankfully, she was safely reclaimed before giving birth a few days later. Dorothy mothered her kittens beautifully, teaching them everything they needed to become confident, adoptable cats. Since then, she has come a long way from her adventurous beginnings. While she can still be a little aloof, approaching her slowly and letting her initiate contact is the key to winning her trust. Now, Dorothy adores the comfort of a super-soft blanket, where she can knead with such intensity you’d swear she could stir concrete. When fully relaxed, you might even catch her gently suckling on her favorite blanket — a sweet reminder of her momma-cat roots. Dorothy is ready to find a calm, patient home where she can continue to show off her unique personality and indulge in all the cozy comforts she deserves. Dorothy would do best in a home with mature kids and adults as children would probably be a bit much for her. Dorothy is at Princeton's Meow and can be seen during open hours. We recommend you get preapproved before visiting so you can take home your new friend the same day.
