Doorie's Story
🐾 Meet Doorie 🐾

Doorie is a sweet 8-year-old girl who found her way to us as a stray, and sadly no one ever came looking for her. What makes her story even more puzzling is that our veterinarian noted that her mouth shows signs of a professional dental at some point in her life, meaning someone once cared for her. Now she’s waiting and hoping someone will care for her again.

Doorie is a gentle soul who can be a little shy when you first meet her. She’s still learning to trust new people and prefers to take things at her own pace. She isn’t a fan of having her neck touched, but once she feels comfortable, she happily accepts head scratches and butt scritches and will lean right into the affection.

Because she’s still figuring things out, Doorie would do best with someone who understands that trust takes time. She’s a wonderful companion for someone patient and kind who will let her settle in and blossom.

Doorie is a bit hit or miss with other animals, so a calm home where introductions can be managed slowly (or where she can be the only pet) may suit her best.

After everything she’s been through, Doorie deserves a soft place to land and a person to call her own again. 💛

If you think you could give this sweet senior girl the loving home she deserves, please reach out to learn more about adopting Doorie.
