Doomie's Story

This is a courtesy post for a lady who is trying to find a forever home for her brother's cat who she has taken in after her brother moved out and was unable to take Doomie with him.

Here is what Terri says about Doomie, who is a special needs cat:

"Doomie had been my brother's cat for 1 to 2 years until he had to give her up. I don't have a whole lot of information about her, but I have had her to the vet since she is now mine. I believe she is approximately 2 years old. I believe my brother found her on the street as a stray.

"Doomie is a sweet, sweet cat and can lie on your lap for a couple hours. I keep her in a room with the baby gate in the door so she is not in with my five cats as one of them is an alpha and hisses at her. She runs away when that happens. She is always loving and snuggling with me and is a quiet cat.

"Doomie does have a medical condition called 'pillow paws' which will require follow-ups and most likely medication for the rest of her life. Her current vet is following her and I have been giving her antibiotics twice a day which, if given with a treat, she does very, very good with. She does need to remain an indoor kitty because of the pillow paws. Doomie was tested for FIV and is negative. We did this because it may be an underlying cause for the autoimmune condition of pillow paws."

For more information on pillow paws: https://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/skin/pillow-foot-pododermatitis-cats

"When Doomie sits on my lap and the other cats come around she remains on my lap. She is not afraid of my dog who is very friendly. I don't have kids, but I'm sure she would be fine with them.

"I am unable to keep her since I do have the five cats and one dog. I don't want her to to be afraid of my alpha cat. I would love for her to have a home where someone could spend at least some time with her sitting on their lap in the evenings. Preferably a quieter home as she was with my brother and it was just him and her."

If you would like to know more about Doomie or request an adoption application, please email bandocats@gmail.com
