Doogie's Story

Meet Doogie!

This boy was found roaming the streets with a calming collar on. He was fixed, but not microchipped. After almost 3 months of trying to track down his former owner to no avail, we were called in to help him find a new home, as it is clear he was at some point someone's indoor baby. He is not meant for the street life! he was also extremely clean and free of any dirt or fleas, so he wasn't outside for every long at all. The folks who found him fear he may have been dumped.

Doogie was unsure of the folks who found him at first, but after about 2 hours, he started warming up to them. He is a friendly, cuddly boy who purrs and gives headbutts, and he is a very sociable guy who loves following and being around people. His favorite thing in the whole world is being held and hugged and talked to! He was very welcoming to belly rubs from the woman who found him and took him in, but when the vet touched his belly, Doogie didn't like it! We think it was probably the stress of being at the doctor's office, but just to be sure, we recommend easing your way into belly rubs, until he is comfortable enough to give it up freely.

He adapted pretty quick once he realized that the people that took him in were friendly people, and his gentle, snuggly personality was in full effect by the time he got some delicious food.

Doogie is a very easy-going, friendly boy who loves people and is happy to be back inside. He is curious about other cats, but doesn't have a whole lot of experience interacting with them. But with his calm demeanor and ability to roll with the punches, we are sure he would do fine in a home with or without other kitties to pal around with!

The woman who found him wrote this mini bio for him -

"My rescue Mom suggested I share a little about myself and what I love. I'm a handsome 2 year old boy who really enjoys hearing you talk. I'm a great listener, and I adore cuddles and hugs. Plus, I can't resist purring loudly and often!

I enjoy eating and playing like other kitties, but having someone talk to me and hold me is the best thing ever!

I'm looking for a fur-ever parent or parents who will love me and be my world. In return, I will give you lots of cuddles, purrs, make you smile, and promise you'll always have my unconditional love!"

Doogie is available now!
