Donna's Story

This is Donna. Donna has been waiting 90+ days to be adopted, which is frankly starting to feel personal.

Donna is what some might dismiss as a Standard Issue Cat™️. *Wrong.* She is actually a torbie, meaning tabby + orange chaos, but like controlled chaos. Functional chaos. The kind that files taxes.

When I first met Donna, she was actively beating the shit out of a tomcat for slapping her kid. Not metaphorically. Not spiritually. Physically. Donna said, “What the actual f*ck, sir,” and handled it. She has grit. She would dominate Naked and Afraid, emotionally and strategically. She is already naked all the time anyway, except for the occasional bonnet. But she has since retired from violence and now enjoys indoor luxuries like naps, grocery bags, and staring out the window speaking to squirrels telepathically.

Donna spends most of her time asleep with her little toesies fully splayed, aggressively relaxed, or curled directly into your arms, or somehow both at once. She is a professional cuddler with a strong union contract.

We rescued Donna so she would never have to fight to survive again. She’s done her part. She clocked out. Now we need you to do yours. I know you have someone in your life who could be gently bullied into adopting a cat. A partner. A roommate. An emotionally fragile friend. A parent who “doesn’t like cats” but absolutely would like Donna specifically. Send me their name. I will only harass them continuously over the course of several weeks.

JUSTICE FOR REGULAR-ASS TABBIES.
(She’s literally not even regular. She has a mild orange energy. You can feel it. It’s in the room. See photos.)

Fill out our adoption survey. We believe open, progressive adoption policies save lives. We do not have rigid requirements of adopters. Our goal is to match you with the best cat for you and your household, and find a loving home for our cats and kittens.

***MEET OUR KITTENS: All cats and kittens are fostered in private homes to ensure they receive all the individualized attention and playtime that they deserve. This allows us not only to save kittens from growing up in a shelter environment, but also to communicate transparently with adopters about their personality traits. We are extremely responsive and flexible when it comes to scheduling visits. Please select the soonest day you are available for a visit in the adoption form, and we will work with you to make that happen.

***ADOPTION PROCESS: Once you decide to adopt, you will complete the Adoption Contract and adoption fee electronically within the form. You will receive our Adopter Information Packet, the cat's veterinary summary, and a receipt for your donation. Because we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, your adoption fee is a tax-deductible donation. We offer post-adoption support and counseling, and are always here if you have questions. We hope everything works out well with your new cat, but we understand that sometimes, the cat you bring home is not a fit for you and your family. That’s okay! Our team is here to support you through the difficult decision to return your pet to Community Cat Project if it isn’t working out, and we will take them back, no questions asked.

Instagram: @CLEcatproject
www.communitycatproject.org/adoptions

Community Cat Project's Adoption Policy
Cleveland Community Cat Project is dedicated to promoting the welfare of community cats and rescuing as many friendly cats and kittens as possible. We believe open, progressive adoption policies save lives. We do not have rigid adoption policies such as requiring invasive home checks or personal reference checks. Our adoption process involves completing a simple survey with your basic information, other people and pets at home, and your preferences for adoption. We get back to interested adopters promptly, and have a brief conversation before scheduling an adoption visit. Our goal is to match you with the best cat for you and your household, and to find a loving home for our cats and kittens! We are incredibly grateful to our adopters for opening their homes to rescued animals and loving them for life. Our adopters often become our greatest supporters and volunteers.
