Dominic's Story
DOMINIC IS STILL WAITING FOR HIS FAMILY

Stansbury Park, UT

Dominic is an absolute LOVE BUG.

He also happens to have the BIGGEST EYEBALLS of possibly any Bengal we have ever known—which makes it particularly difficult to explain to him why his forever family hasn't found him yet.

Because honestly?
We don't get it either.

At just 2 years old, Dominic has a long and happy life ahead of him. He's affectionate, hilarious, curious, talkative, and one of those rare Bengals who isn't simply willing to cuddle with his humans—he actively wants to.

Dominic is a world-class couch surfer. He'll curl up beside you. He'll nap with you. He'll happily commandeer your lap. And if you work from home, Dominic would be delighted to accept a position as your completely unqualified but extraordinarily dedicated executive assistant.

Personal space?

Dominic has heard of it.
He just doesn't see why anyone would want it.

THE LITTLE GUY JUST WANTS TO BELONG

Dominic came to Bengal Rescue after finding himself abandoned at one of Utah's busiest shelters.

We don't know what happened before he arrived there. We do know that the shelter environment was enormously stressful for him, and he was also struggling with gastrointestinal issues that needed more investigation and care than the shelter could provide.

So they called us.

And once Dominic landed in an experienced Bengal Rescue foster home and had time to decompress, the cat underneath all that fear emerged.

And what a cat he is.

Sweet. Loving. People-oriented. Playful. Curious. And profoundly affectionate.
His foster home includes two resident cats, and here's where Dominic's eternal optimism gets him into a little trouble.

Dominic would very much like everyone to be friends.

His roommates have declined the invitation.

He approaches them, wants to interact with them, and doesn't always understand when they'd prefer he mind his own business. Because of that dynamic, we believe Dominic will have his very best chance at happily-ever-after as the only feline in his home, where he won't have to compete for anybody's affection—or negotiate complicated roommate politics.

And frankly, Dominic has enough personality to fill the position of several cats.

WHAT DOMINIC IS LOOKING FOR

Dominic would thrive with someone who genuinely wants an affectionate cat to be part of their everyday life.

Because he bonds so strongly with his people, a person or family who spends plenty of time at home would be especially wonderful for him. A work-from-home human might think they've hit the Bengal jackpot.

He is also VOCAL—because apparently those enormous eyeballs aren't expressive enough—so apartment or shared-wall living probably isn't his best match.

We don't have experience with Dominic around dogs or children, so we can't confidently predict how he'd feel about either.

ABOUT THAT SENSITIVE BENGAL BELLY

Dominic came into our care with significant GI upset, and we took it seriously.
His comprehensive testing was negative for the infectious organisms and parasites we were concerned about, and we worked carefully with his diet to determine what made his digestive system happiest.

And we found it.

Dominic does wonderfully when his dietary needs are respected. He needs to remain on the diet that is working for him, and his future family will need to be committed to keeping him on it.

That's it. No mystery. No scary diagnosis. Just a Bengal belly that has opinions about the menu.

Dominic is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, FeLV/FIV negative, and ready for the part of his story we've been waiting to write.

HIS NEW FAMILY

We have watched this beautiful little cat settle in, learn to trust, attach himself wholeheartedly to his humans—and wait. And wait. And wait.
And somehow, Dominic is still waiting.

So we're asking you to look at those enormous green eyes one more time.

We've been saying that Dominic hasn't found his family yet...
Maybe his family just hasn't found Dominic?

If you've been looking for a funny, affectionate, devoted little Bengal to take over your couch, your lap, and a fairly substantial portion of your heart, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply to adopt Dominic today!

https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRUT/Cat

Dominic came to Bengal Rescue after finding himself abandoned at one of Utah's busiest shelters.
We don't know what happened before he arrived there. We do know that the shelter environment was enormously stressful for him, and he was also struggling with gastrointestinal issues that needed more investigation and care than the shelter could provide.
So they called us.
