Doe and Boo's Story
Meet Doe and Boo, two adorable kittens estimated to be about six months old. Both have lovely short, sleek, soft black fur with green/yellow eyes.

These two cuties were rescued from a shelter in south Seattle that was going to euthanize them due to lack of space and because the kittens were “feral”. This really means they just were very scared and at about four months old, were not used to living with humans. Aside from that, there is no knowledge of where they came from or what their back story is.

These lovely ladies are definitely cautious of humans, but they are warming up and have recently been leaving the cat room to explore the full living space. During the day they cuddle together in a “cat cave” and nap. When they are relaxed and sleepy, this is an ideal time to offer them pets.

In the evening, they get braver and more active and will get their zoomies out in the living room. They’ve come a long way to getting used to having humans in the same room as them, though they still get nervous when people come and go. They are looking for a home that understands their socialization is a work in progress and that these shy ladies are still getting used to living with people and will need some time invested in them.

Doe is the larger of the two, and the braver one. She will occasionally sit/lie in front of Boo to “protect” her from the human (and get more of the Churu for herself!). She will be the first to the food bowl, will be the first to take the Churu treat (and chew on the wrapper to get it to come out of the tube more quickly!), and will be the first to play with you. When she is relaxed, she loves pets and it quick to loudly purr.

Boo is more reserved. If she gets scared, she’ll occasionally let out a small hiss (which is actually adorable), and you need to be able to read her cues on whether or not she is feeling relaxed enough to receive a pet. Good manners of offering a hand for a sniff and moving slowly are key. If she’s relaxed, she will reward your efforts with a soft purr. She really is a little sweetie, but still gets scared.

These two like to hang out with each other. They love play time – “da bird” (feathers on a stick that fly like a bird) is a favorite, and this is where Boo’s little personality really shines. She is fast and you can tell that of the two, she likely has the best hunting skills. The two kittens love to chase each other and wrestle. They are both good eaters they like both canned and dry food. They have excellent litter box habits. Churus are a BIG motivator to help them get more comfortable with you, and are highly recommended. They each get one in the evening, and they will come and check in on me when it’s close to time for Churus.

Consistent gentle, human interaction during feeding time is a must. They need a patient person who understands the challenges of kittens who grew up without humans. They will need to work their way up to being comfortable enough to be picked up/handled. Right now, petting only is allowed.

What Doe and Boo are looking for in a home:

- They want to stay together forever and would love to be adopted as a pair.
- They’re new to indoor life with humans, so they need a kind and patient guide to help them continue adjusting. Loud noises, fast movements, and strangers could make them nervous.
- They’ll need extra time and TLC to build trust.
- They have lots of kitten energy and will benefit from plenty of active play time. - - They feel at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- They need to live indoors only.
- They have no known history with other cats.
- They have no known history with dogs.
- They have no known history with children.

All Alley Cat Projects cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Thank you for your interest in Doe and Boo! If your household fits the above criteria, you can apply to adopt them by filling out this questionnaire: https://bit.ly/ACPAdoptionForm

Only applicants who complete the questionnaire will be considered. Please do not send an inquiry through Petfinder, as it will not replace the questionnaire.
