Doc Holliday - gentle tomcat's Story

Jefferson Pound, Lake Hopatcong NJ

Per The Real Cats Ride Again I was requested to go on a mission to take LOTS of pictures this weekend, most of which you'll be seeing featured on their page!

But there was one cat that outside of their photoshoot, I sat down to hang out with after seeing the Magik of churu.

That cat is Doc Holliday, named by Mr. Tenacity and came in 10/24, he was part of a large trapping operation which included the hotsauces, the rock and rollers, the rumpus kids, the bugs, you name it! A LOT of friendly cats!

And despite his original appearance of a sad, scary, unapproachable sack of potatoes, he transformed into an entirely different gentle ham with (4? 5? I'm a sucker) churus! I even got belly!!! He lives up to his name and he'd whoop me in a game of Texas hold'em any day.

He is really a gentle giant. The only thing I want to double check on with the ACO is his FIV status. Adult toms (like This Guy from earlier this year) have a higher likelihood of contracting FIV from territorial disputes.
That being said, optimistically not a single cat from that address has tested positive. So I'm rooting for him and his handsome chunky face.
My age guesstimate is 3 or 4.
.
.
.
If you're interested in Doc, or any of our other cats, fill out our preadopt form, here!:
https://jefferson.seamlessdocs.com/f/preadopt

The Jefferson Pound is located at:
57 Minnisink Road, Lake Hopatcong NJ
Walk in hours: M-F, 8-12
Weekend AM appointments available, DM Audacity's Cat Reviews to schedule :)

**Doc, like all of our other cats, is indoor ONLY.
The average life span of an outdoor feral is two years. Outdoor cats are subject to these same elements and risk a distressing death.
Please speak with Kim, the shelter manager and the town's ACO, for more information regarding this.
