Dixon's Story

Dixon (M) Approx DOB 3/3/19

Dixon was a community cat that our volunteers fed at a local Dixieline when they realized he had no feeders. Over time he would run up and prance around their feet when it was feeding time. Eventually Dixon sustained an injury (possibly hit by car) and a fractured pelvis. We brought him in to heal and he proved to be a sweet boy well deserving of a home. He needs a patient person with no other cats. He really likes his human when he attaches and will continue to surprise with more and more affection. He is playful and loves to play with feather toys. He can get overly excited and bat at you but you'll quickly see he's only playing and desperately pleading for attention in the only way he knows how. He is still trying to find himself as a house cat and can be awkward at times but this is what makes him so special ... watching him grow and come alive in his new environment. Please consider giving Dixon the home he deserves after many nights outside. His adopter will need to ensure he is transitioning well otherwise into his new home so we will keep in touch at first. Small spaces are best for him to start in.
