Dinah's Story

Hi, my name is Dinah. I am a 9-month-old, long-haired, female, Tabby tripod. The previous shelter that had me thought I was a Persian mix, but no one knows if that is true. Whatever I am, I am a gorgeous girl with a permanent “baby face” and long, fluffy hair. Purring Hearts took me in from another shelter to give me a better chance at getting adopted, and to get me the care that I needed. My right front elbow joint was badly infected, and I was not putting weight on it. Less than 2 hours after my amputation, I was walking around better and playing with the ball track toy. As you can tell, I am very determined to make the most of my new life! My surgery was a little over 3 weeks ago, so my hair is still growing back in that area. I am very sweet, want lots of love, and want to spend as much time around you as I can. There are some times I really like being pet, and return the favor with a love bite. I am good with using any litter box, but it is easier for me to use a low sided litter box. I have not had any interest in cat trees since my amputation. I can go up and down stairs, as long as the steps themselves are not tall. My foster mom thinks I will learn how to jump on to the sofa and your bed, to be by your side. I get along with other cats/kittens, and quickly made friends with my foster sister, Cowgirl. I would rather not be an only pet - especially if my new owners work outside of the home. I like having someone or another pet around. I don't mind having dogs around, as long as they don't mess with me. I have not met young children yet. I am spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, tested for FIV/FeLV (negative/negative), and have my microchip. If you are interested in making me a part of your family, please click on the following link to fill out an Adoption Application http://www.purringheartsva.org and a volunteer will reach out to you within 72 hours. I hope to hear from my forever family soon!
