Dill and Darcy's Story

Please read through the entire posting and requirements before applying via our questionnaire at alleycatproject.org/adopt
Please do not submit an inquiry via Petfinder.

Meet Dill & Darcy, a bonded pair of kitten siblings. They are approximately 5 months old.

Dill is a sweet and determined tuxedo boy. He is adventurous & food motivated and will follow you into the kitchen. He is still a bit shy however, will allow cuddles and affection (when he's not interested in playing!) He will sit right next to you on the couch, purring loudly in the evenings and enjoys sleeping at the foot of your bed in the mornings. He loves wrestling with his sister or playing with wand toys.

Darcy is a calm and curious kitty with the sweetest meow. She loves playing with any toy, especially ones that make any noise, and string toys. She's great at independent play with plenty of toys around and playing with other cats. She is a goofy gal and will hop around trying to get the string. She loves lounging around during the day, either on the couch or her bed and very playful in the afternoon and evening. She is shyer than her brother and still warming up to humans, so she might run & hide, yet she will watch tv with you on the couch (at a distance) and let you pet her when approached slowly and after sniffing an outstretched hand. She loves taking a naps in hidey holes where she feels safe.

What Darcy & Dill are looking for in a home:

- They are new to indoor life with humans, so they need a kind and patient guide to help them continue adjusting. Loud noises, fast movements, and strangers make her nervous.
- They can get nervous, so they need a kind and patient guide to help them feel comfortable with new experiences.
- They feel at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- They need to live indoors only.
- They have a positive history with dogs.
- They have no known history with children.

All Alley Cat Project’s cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption. Consistent with Association of Shelter Veterinarians (ASV) guidelines, ACP follows current shelter medicine practices and does not routinely test every healthy, low-risk cat for FIV and FeLV.

Alley Cat Project adoption fees are:

- $200 per cat or kitten
- $350 for pair of cats or kittens
- $50 for senior cat (over 8 years old)
- Flexible reduced fees for a cat with a chronic medical condition that requires ongoing care
- Adjustable fee upon request for adopters who are low income, and seniors, disabled, or others with fixed incomes.
- Additional charitable donations are appreciated and support our overall rescue efforts

Thank you for your interest in adopting Dill and Darcy!
