Meet Dill 🤍🐾<br/><br/>Dill is a 2-year-old Domestic Shorthair with beautiful brown tabby and white markings and a tender, growing spirit. She was rescued from a hoarding situation involving over 20 cats, and when she first came to us, she was very sick and heavily infested with fleas. Thanks to months of care and consistency, Dill is healthier now—and beginning to discover a whole new world.<br/><br/>For a long time, Dill ran from humans, having never known what it was like to have a real home. Today, she is accepting of our presence and is slowly but surely coming out of her shell. She still hides often, especially in new or busy situations, but each small step forward is a big victory for her.<br/><br/>Dill absolutely loves other cats, especially her sister Angelica, who brings her comfort and confidence. A home with a friendly feline companion would be ideal for her. One thing that wins Dill over every time? Food—she’s very food-motivated and never misses a meal! 🍽️<br/><br/>Dill is looking for a patient, understanding home that will give her the time, space, and kindness she needs to continue building trust. If you believe in celebrating small milestones and have a soft spot for cats who are learning how to feel safe, Dill could be the perfect addition to your family. 💕<br/><br/>Dill has had all age appropriate vaccinations, has been dewormed with a general dewormer, has been spayed, microchipped, received monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and tested negative for FeLV virus.<br/><br/>We do recommend rechecking a fecal within 48 hours after you take any cat home, covered by us. If she is positive for any parasites, we will get you a dewormer recommended by your vet at no extra cost.<br/><br/>Adoption fee is $125. We take check, card, and cash.<br/><br/>You will receive a copy of the microchip form when you bring her home, and we will register it for you! In the first week, we would like to check the account to make sure we did not make any errors. After that, it will be your responsibility to keep the information accurate and up to date. This is a lifelong enrollment, and you will not have to pay towards it again. The microchip sits under the skin, between the shoulder blades. Your username will be your email address, so you will be required to have one. Once you logon to petlink.net, you can change the password to whatever you would like.<br/><br/>You will also receive a copy of your adoption contract, signed by you and a Pawsitive Cause board member. This contract will go over that our cats are seen by a veterinarian, have received vet care, and had their hearts listened to, but we cannot guarantee the health of any animal.<br/><br/>You will also receive a hand out about Upper Respiratory Infection in cats, as many animals in rescues and shelters have been previously exposed to this illness. Even if they are not showing signs of URI, the change or stress of going home can bring those symptoms on, which is why we send you home with the hand out.<br/><br/>We will go over a checklist to make sure that we did not miss anything. You will receive a copy of this as well. We have asked our fosters to bring some food for you to take home to transition on to what you would like them to eat. We have always offered both wet and dry food.<br/><br/>Dill is using litter boxes great. However, we recommend starting her out in a room with a litter box, and open more and more of the house at a time. Do not move the litter box a lot! This also helps with introductions to other animals. You should always do slow introductions under a door with a few days of no sight. Once all of the animals are calm and used to the new noises and smells, you can start offering treats at the door to both animals, then open the door and start letting them slowly mingle.<br/><br/>Lastly, you will receive a paper copy or email copy of all medical records we have on file. We would love it if you continued your vet care with us at Pawsitive Care, but we understand if you have a vet you love!
