Meet Diego

***IN FOSTER***

Holà, Diego. You have new areas to explore! “Go, Diego, Go!”

Unlike his five feline amigos, Diego was unimpressed with his means of transportation to EHS. What was he expecting, to follow footprints like his cousin Dora? Fortunately, once settled at the shelter, his sweet personality emerged and has been on display since.

Now in a foster home, this portly, grey and white hombre (who has the cutest tail ever!) is getting used to life indoors. No more exploring for this boy! Comfortable in his new surroundings, Diego has happily renounced his former life as an adventurer. His foster family describes him as “the most affectionate cat we’ve ever met.” Diego relishes every moment of attention he can get, going so far as to invite himself onto the laps of visitors.

An active kitty, Diego frequently zooms around the house while chasing plastic springs or crumpled pieces of paper (which possibly remind him of his old adventure maps.) He also enjoys playing with his humans, stalking a feather wand, or running after a catnip-filled banana. Oh what fun! When he needs a rest, Diego loves hanging out on top of the cat tree, gazing outside and chit-chatting with the birds.

As we continue to get to know Diego, we will be able to determine the best setup for our former explorer. It seems likely that he would do well in a family setting given his friendly, easy-going nature. He won’t share his admiration for jaguars, as did Diego of Dora fame, but he might well show his pleasure living with a compatible feline companion. It is unknown if he has encountered dogs or other animals for that matter prior to retiring his rescue pack and field journal.

“¡Al rescate!”—“To the rescue!” Will you be the one to open your heart and home to handsome Diego? Who knows, he might just rescue you at the same time. A “Zoom” get-together could well be in your future. It’s as easy as uno, dos, tres. Fill out an application today!

The adoption fee for a single cat at EHS is $175. Take home an adult feline friend for your kitty and the adoption fee for the pair is $300! For kittens under six months of age, the adoption fee is $200...or, double your cuteness quotient and adopt two wee furballs for $350! If you mix and match (kitten plus cat), the adoption fee is $300. Each of our cats is spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, snap tested for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption. Kittens are not spayed or neutered until 5 months of age, but the cost of spay/neuter will be covered as part of the adoption.
