Diego's Story

Meet Diego – the Handsome Little Rule-Maker

Diego is an orange boy through and through — adorable, chaotic, not exactly a scholar, and absolutely full of personality. He’s FIV+ (which simply means he can live a long, happy life indoors with routine vet care) and he loves other cats. In fact, he would thrive in a home with feline friends.

Now… let’s talk about Diego’s Rules.

Diego loves to be around you. He will follow you. He will sit near you. He will supervise you. He may even walk right up to you and look absolutely irresistible. However — and this is very important — Diego approaching you does not automatically mean Diego wants to be pet.

Diego believes in consent. Firmly.

If Diego receives one pet more than he asked for, or is touched when he’s not in the mood, he will swat and scratch to let you know the meeting is over. Picking him up? Absolutely not. Belly touches? Straight to jail. Diego is very clear about his boundaries.

That said, he is not a mean cat. He is a communicative cat. A silly, handsome, slightly naughty orange cat who loves to play, snack, and exist in your immediate vicinity at all times. He has so much love to give — you just have to be willing to learn his language and respect his signals.

Diego is looking for an experienced, adult-only home where everyone (including visitors) understands that cats have rules — and Diego’s rules are not suggestions. If you are the kind of person who appreciates a cat with strong opinions, clear boundaries, and a big personality, Diego will reward you with companionship, entertainment, and the honor of sharing your space with a very special little man.

Learn his rules, respect his boundaries, and you’ll gain a loyal (and very orange) best friend.
Fill out an application for him here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FMAS/Cat
