Dicky's Story

Dicky was trapped by a property owner and brought to the shelter with no one coming forward to claim him. He's is struggling with shelter life, and prefers to be outside of the shelter. Despite the stress, Dicky seems to seek human companionship, and likes other non-aggressive cats. This handsome boy deserves a second chance before he becomes more distant, and where he won't be abandoned again. With patience, he can be a working cat and a lifelong companion.

🐾 Ready to Adopt or Foster? Tip 1: It is important that she/he is going to need time to acclimate to their new environment and establish routine feedings and interactions - better to place in a safe space with food, water and litter box for about a week (or two) before releasing into barn-like open space area or your home. TIP 2: Please make sure your home or lease allows pets and that you and others are prepared to welcome a new cat. TIP 3: For any pet, have the essentials ready: food and water, cat food, litter and a litter box (when needed), space for cozy, warm bedding, carrier and a designated veterinarian for ongoing care and/or vaccinations - for working cats, provide safe shelter from summer heat and cold winter nights, along with fresh water and dry food provided daily.
