Diana's Story

BOO!

Meet Diana, your very own senior Halloween Hag!

And just in time for spooky season, the shelter has brought out her sinister side. So much so that she's currently auditioning to be Anjelica Houston's familiar in the reboot of The Witches and we known she's going to CRUSH IT. She even croaks like your favorite chain-smoking aunt from Long Island. She has the stuff, so to speak. But beneath that spooky exterior? We know there's a sweet old woodland witch who just needs a little peace and a quiet home where she'll be able to retire her collection of curses and take up some of that sweet sweet napping magic. Her scary shelter persona is just a minor case of resting witch face.

We can't exactly blame her. Diana spent her entire life with one beloved person, and after they passed away, she found herself in an unfamiliar place surrounded by OTHER CATS. The indignity! At 16 years old, she's earned the right to some gosh-darn consistency!

As our literal scream queen, Diana has made a few demands.

- A quiet home where she can rule the roost. NO OTHER PETS, PUH-LEEZE.
- Padded ramps and easily accessible sleep spots. She used to fly from spot to spot but now her arthritis makes throwing her legs over the ol' broomstick a bit challenging.
-Stairs? HELL NAW! (There can be stairs in your home but we'd love it if she could live her life without needing them to get to her resources, like food, sleeping spots, or litter boxes)
- Soft beds and warm blankets. She "kneads" a place to bake some witchy biscuits for her new fam.

HEALTH & SPECIAL CARE

Diana was diagnosed with stage 2 renal disease in 2018, which progressed to stage 3 this year. She's not currently taking medication, but she'll need regular veterinary checkups and a family willing to monitor her health. She also has arthritis, so comfortable, accessible lounging spots will be important.

Diana's adoption fee is $130 and includes:

- Spay surgery
- Vaccinations
- Bloodwork
- Flea and worm treatment
- Veterinary examination and a history of her vet records before she arrived at our shelter.
- A bag of food to take home

That's an estimated $300–$500 worth of veterinary care and supplies plus Diana, a truly one-of-a-kind spooky specter who is crossing her toe beans to get home in time for Halloween!
