Denise's Story

Denise is one of our longest-term residents, arriving at the shelter as a stray alongside her Flanders. Quiet and reserved, Denise has spent much of her time watching the world go by from the safety of her favorite cat tree—birdwatching, squirrel-spotting, and napping in peaceful solitude.

She’s a low-key girl, and while we suspect she may carry a touch of feline melancholy, there have been beautiful signs of change. Lately, Denise has started venturing out in the evenings to stretch out on the bigger beds by the window. Even more exciting: she’s recently begun making biscuits—a small but heartwarming sign that she’s beginning to feel more comfortable and content.

Denise is a classic “project cat,” looking for a calm, quiet forever home with a patient, cat-savvy adopter. She can be gently approached and accepts pets, and with time and trust, she has the potential to make a truly rewarding transformation. She’s already on the cusp of a big breakthrough in her socialization journey—and it’s a special kind of magic to be part of that process.

If you believe in second chances and the quiet joy of slow-earned trust, Denise might just be the cat to steal your heart.

See Denise on our Safe Haven Instagram:
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQl3E1SkRyH/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJBq24_O4ar/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

If you are interested in meeting Denise, please go to our website and fill out an adoption application and we will be in touch to make an appointment for your visit.
