Meet DENALI
AGE: 7 years
DESCRIPTION: DSH - Tortoiseshell
LOCATION: PETS Shelter (114 W Main Street) - Panora, IA
MY STORY:
Denali was part of a six kitten litter that came to us in 2014 and was the shyest of the group and last one to be adopted. We recently heard from the adopter that another newer kitty in the home was terrorizing her and she needed to be returned. Unfortunately, the adopter was unwilling to work on any suggestions so the kitties could coexist and for Denali to stay in the only home she known for the last 6 years.
Denali arrived back to us very meek and frightened and hid in her litterbox for the first few weeks. Slowly she started to pop her head out looking for some soft talk and chin scratches from the volunteers. Once she had that breakthrough she felt comfortable lounging in her bed and then moving to a free roaming kitty room. She's a quiet girl that has done great with the other nice kitties she shares space with and each day we see her more at ease. Denali is a very polite and low maintenance kitty that will do best in a quieter home with other gentle kitties. She's not much for playing and likes to spend her time simply watching the world go by and spending time with her humans. She's the purrfect fit for someone that wants a pleasant independent kitty that does not want to be all over them. Denali has a stunning dark dark tortoiseshell coat with light sea green eyes and just a smidge of tortitude!
MORE DETAILS:
Inside-only home and must keep claws. The adoption fee for this kitty is $100. Adopt a pair of kitties for $150. Each cat and kitten has been: altered (spayed/neutered), vaccinated (age-appropriate) - rabies and distemper combo, microchipped, tested for FeLV (negative unless previously noted), and treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms.
We ask that interested parties fill out a cat adoption questionnaire. Please fill out the questionnaire only if you are seriously considering adopting this sweet kitty. You can get the application by going to our website at "http://www.panorapets.com/adopt"
and clicking on the "Cat Adoption Questionnaire" button at the top of the page. Once you have submitted the questionnaire, a volunteer adoption coordinator will contact you usually within 24 hours. Please be patient and thank you for your interest in this kitty.
Please note: Upon approval of the adoption questionnaire, we may request a home visit prior to completing the adoption.
P.E.T.S. supports the "Paws Need Claws" Campaign. Cats are rather attached to their claws; please do not de-claw your cats.
