Demi's Story

Our very special friend Demi is looking to find her new family. She's as sweet as can be, and absolutely loves sharing headbutts with her people. Demi is very opinionated and has a lot to say at times, though she's usually just letting you know she wants attention!

Demi has a chronic spine injury that causes her to mostly drag her legs. Despite her condition, she still loves to explore her space and lives her life to the fullest! She's hoping that someone is ready to take on her special care, and will be so grateful to whoever opens their home to her.

She enjoys the quieter things in life, preferring a low-key environment without a lot of hustle and bustle. While Demi is very sweet and loving, she can be timid at first and will need time and patience to blossom into the best version of herself.

Despite her mobility issues, Demi really likes to play. She's been known to enjoy chasing after wands and string toys, having a blast! She can't wait to find her new, special home!

We look forward to helping to match you with your new best friend and supporting you throughout the adoption process. Adopters are welcome to visit our Adoption Center without a scheduled appointment to meet and adopt pets including dogs, cats, birds and small animals. The Adoption Center is open Tuesday – Sunday from 10 am – 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm – 4 pm, with the last adoption meet or scheduled appointment at 3:30 pm. The 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm closure coincides with our quiet time in the kennels, where our pets receive mental enrichment and have a chance to decompress. We are closed Mondays for staff training and extra animal enrichment. If a pet is listed as available in foster care, please call first so we can arrange a time for the foster family to bring the pet back to AWS. All foster meetings take place at AWS.
