DD after Dorothy Dietrich (the escapeologist)'s Story

DD, named after Dorothy Dietrich, the illusionist and escape artist... so appropriately as she escaped right out of a zipped carrier when I rescued her, cut the tiniest hole in it and when I got home with her... she moved all around inside my SUV for at least 30 minutes making me roll, bend, climb every which way... and in no way did she ever get upset or aggressive with me... she was just so scared to be rescued. When I finally caught her in the car she was easy to pick up and transport inside.

She has been a quiet and gentle shy girl since her time with me beginning in January. She loves treats, and sometimes will purr when she is being pet. She has grown tired of being in a room with lots of other kitties but I think she for sure enjoys the company of other cats...just not 7 of them in a rescue!

She is vetted, microchipped and won't need anything until early 2026. She has been the picture of health, gorgeous coat, teeth and eyes and was estimated to be 2-3 years old. She lived in a rough place and had one kitten when we rescued and he was adopted and doing wonderful. She also had a male cat with her. All 3 were starving and begging for food in a rough neighborhood when I got the call about them. They didn't stand a chance for a long life where they were, so I am thankful she is healthy and ready for the indoor pampered life she so deserves.

I know that once she has someone who loves on her every day and gives her a place to roam freely, she will start out shy but become a loving part of the family and household. Even though my rescues come from outside, my goal is to find them indoor only homes so they are safe from predators and parasites and get to be truly loved by amazing humans.

If you would like to give this beautiful ginger (rare when females are orange) a forever home... please reach out to us and fill out our application.
