Daytona's Story

Hi, I'm Daytona, a young cat with a gentle heart. I'm quite shy, especially around loud noises and, oh, I'm really scared of dogs. I spend my days quietly observing my surroundings, hoping for a calm and peaceful home with my sister Dodge. We gain comfort from one another. We love gentle touches and soft whispers, they make us feel safe. If you're looking for a couple of sweet companions who need just a little extra love and patience, we might just be the perfect fit. Consider giving us a chance to be part of your family, where we can thrive and share our gentle love.

Note from Paws humans: Daytona and Dodge showed up as kittens at a family's home. The family had dogs, but took the kittens in and had them spayed. This certainly prevented them from getting pregnant and adding to the cat overpopulation problem. The sisters were very sweet with the couple who took them in, but they were terrified of the family's dogs. The couple is downsizing to a much smaller condo now, so they felt the cats needed a new home since they wouldn't be able to avoid the dogs at the new place. They both love to play, especially with the fishing pole toys. To apply to adopt any of our cats or kittens, please visit our website and fill out our on-line application at https://www.pawsurbana.org/apply-to-adopt.

Paws Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
We do not do same-day adoptions, as we have an adoption application which must be completed and verified. We do not allow declawing of any of our animals even after they are adopted, and you must sign a contract agreeing to this (we sometimes take cats in who have already been declawed). We also require that all of the cats and kittens adopted from us must be kept exclusively indoors.
