Years ago, she was part of a TNR (trap-neuter-return) effort, but when she became very ill—stopping eating and suffering from a painful eye condition—a kind man who fed her reached out for help. We brought her in, and after months of antibiotics and little improvement, Dawn underwent surgery for an inverted eyelid. She also had to have her two top canines removed, leaving her with the sweetest, silliest little face that will absolutely melt your heart.<br/><br/>Despite being scared and unsure, Dawn has shown nothing but quiet resilience. Even after all the medical care and handling, she never tried to bite or scratch. She simply hides her head in her paws, bracing herself like she expects more medicine—but never fights back. She even lets us trim her nails, albeit reluctantly.<br/><br/>Dawn spends her days perched by the window, peacefully watching the world go by, or quietly observing her humans as they move through their day. She doesn’t ask for much—just a calm, quiet home where she can feel safe and be herself. She’s perfect for someone looking for a low-key companion to share peaceful moments and gentle company.
