Dash & Kit's Story
Dash & Kit
Adoption fee $450.00 for the pair
DOB Jan 2022

Four years ago, Dash and Kit were adopted as kittens into a loving home where they were truly cherished. Their adopter adored them — they were her whole world. Even after life fell apart around her, she stayed in touch because she wanted to be sure they were safe. Letting them go was absolutely heartbreaking for her, and it shows in how much she still checks on them.

She faced a series of sudden losses — her job, home, car, and savings — and eventually had no safe way to keep the boys with her. She reached out to us so they wouldn’t be abandoned or put at risk. There is no blame in this situation. Just someone who loved her cats and wanted them protected.

Now they’re back with LapCats, safe, and ready for a new chapter. And they each have big, distinct personalities:

Dash
The boss of the pair. Confident, outgoing, and absolutely convinced he runs the household. He’s social, affectionate, and always ready to be in the middle of whatever you’re doing. He has that perfect mix of “in charge” and “lovebug.”

Kit Kat-
Sensitive, gentle, and slow to open up — but once he trusts you, he loves deeply. It took almost a month in his original home before he allowed touching, but when he finally did, he became her baby. He slept on her pillow every night, right by her head. Losing that bond has been very hard on him, and he will need someone patient and kind enough to let him settle in at his own pace.

These brothers would love to stay together. Even though Dash might be ok without Kit, we think it would be a hard adjustment for Kit to be without his brother. He’s very sensitive and will take time to adjust.

The first step in our adoption process is the application which can be found on our website lapcats.org.

All of our cats have tested negative for FELV and are vaccinated. If they have been rescued as kittens under 4 months, they will not have a rabies vaccine. They have not only been spayed or neutered but have also been treated for worms, fleas, and have been micro chipped.

We will register their microchip for you, provide you with a free exam visit to a participating Sacramento veterinarian, and a goodie bag! We do not do out of state adoptions for the safety of our cats.
