Darling's Story

Meet This Beautiful Little Tortie

There’s something incredibly special about giving a former stray kitten the chance to discover what it means to be loved.

Darling is a gorgeous 3.5-month-old tortoiseshell girl, born outdoors and found with her mother and siblings. Her mom was likely once a house cat, but the kittens had very little exposure to people during their early weeks. When she first came into foster care, the big, unfamiliar world of humans was understandably scary.

Now she’s learning.

Day by day, Darling is discovering that people can be gentle, that a warm bed is a wonderful place to sleep, that regular meals always come, and that she doesn’t have to be afraid anymore. She’s still shy, but she’s making progress—and watching that trust grow is one of the most rewarding parts of fostering a kitten like her.

She may not be the kitten who immediately runs up and jumps into your lap. Instead, she’s the kind of kitten who will make you feel incredibly special when she finally chooses to come closer, relax beside you, or give you that first little sign that she knows she’s safe.

Giving a former stray a home isn’t just about adopting a cat. It’s about showing a vulnerable animal that the world can be a kind place. It’s about watching a frightened little kitten discover her confidence, her personality, and all the joys of being someone’s beloved pet.

She has so much potential, and with a patient adopter willing to let her blossom at her own pace, this beautiful little tortie could become an incredibly special companion.

If you have room in your heart for a kitten who needs someone to believe in her, Darling is waiting to meet you.

ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED/NEUTERED PRIOR TO ADOPTION

New Chapter Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our adoption policies are designed to ensure the long‑term safety and well‑being of each animal. Adopters agree that the animal becomes their legal responsibility and that adoption is a lifelong commitment. All animals are adopted “as is,” with known medical history and records fully disclosed. Adopters agree to establish veterinary care promptly and to provide ongoing routine and preventative care; future medical expenses are the responsibility of the adopter. Animals must be kept as indoor pets, cats may not be declawed, and breeding is strictly prohibited as all animals are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. Adopters agree not to sell, rehome, or surrender the animal to another shelter, and to return the animal to NCAR if they can no longer provide care. These policies help ensure stable, permanent placements and responsible pet ownership.
