Dixie Adoptables's Adoption Policy
Our Adoption Process:
Our goal is to match the right pet with the right adopter.
1. Once we receive the completed application, we will call your vet references, personal reference, and landlord (if applicable).
2. Once you get an approval, we will set up a time for a phone call and typically can offer a video call with the potential animal.
3. All adoptions will be finalized and fees collected prior to the transport of your new family member. Adoption fees will not be refunded if you simply change your mind. We only hold an animal for adoption once a deposit has been paid or the full adoption fee has been paid.
4. We will coordinate with you to transport your new pet to one of our many transport destinations if you are not a local adopter.

Dixie Adoptables is a 501(c) (3) non-profit animal rescue. We are a rescue, not a shelter, and as such we do not have our animals housed in one location – they are in foster homes. Founded in 2008, we are committed to rescuing, caring for, and adopting homeless dogs and cats into loving and responsible homes.
