Daphne's Story

Meet Daphne!

Daphne is sweet and very petite tuxedo kitten with a gentle soul, a loving heart, and a playful spirit. Born and raised in a barn with her two siblings until she was 3 months old, she’s now getting a fresh start in foster care—and she’s adjusting to indoor life beautifully!

Though she can be a little shy at first, Daphne is making amazing progress. With a bit of patience and a lot of love, she quickly shows her affectionate side—and once she feels safe, she becomes quite loving. For the most part, she’s a gentle quiet girl who just needs the right environment to fully blossom.

She’s also discovering how much fun kitten life can be! Daphne absolutely adores catnip and goes wild chasing the end of a feather wand toy. She is also a very big fan of Churu squeezable treats! Her playful side is shining brighter every day, and she’s sure to keep you entertained with her kitten antics.

Daphne currently lives with other cats ranging from kittens to seniors, and she gets along wonderfully with everyone. She is also great with friendly dogs, and seems to be pretty easy going.

She’d thrive in a calm home where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. Older, respectful children who understand her gentle nature and who can respect her needs would be a great fit to help her feel safe and loved. She will need patience and understanding from her family as she transitions into her new home.

If you’re looking for a gentle, sweet, playful kitten with tons of potential, and you have the time to invest a little love... then Daphne just might be your perfect match.

If interested in meeting Daphne, please submit an application here: https://fjcasp.wufoo.com/forms/adoption-application

Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets's Adoption Policy
At FJCASP, we dedicate a great deal of love, time, and resources to caring for our animals, and our top priority is to see them go to permanent, loving homes with people who have the knowledge and means to provide proper care. Adoption Fee: $80–$150 Vet References Required We require that all potential adopters provide veterinary references. This allows us to confirm that any current or past pets have been kept up to date on vaccinations, preventatives, and are spayed/neutered. Most veterinary offices are familiar with this request. Our goal is to ensure that our animals are placed in homes where they will remain safe, healthy, and properly cared for. Long-Term Commitment Adopting a pet is a serious, long-term commitment. We want all potential adopters to understand their responsibilities and be prepared to care for an animal for its lifetime. Home Requirements To provide a safe environment, we require that adopters provide: - Proper shelter for the animal - Understanding of how to introduce a new pet to children and existing animals -Commitment to keeping the animal as an indoor pet Adoption Approval All adoptions must be finalized and approved by the FJCASP Board. This ensures oversight by experienced individuals who can confirm that all parties understand their responsibilities and that the animal’s welfare is prioritized. Adopter Responsibilities It is part of our adoption agreement that all medical treatments, veterinary costs, preventatives, food, and shelter are the sole responsibility of the adopter. Our goal is to place each animal in a loving, safe, and permanent home, and these guidelines help us ensure that every adoption is successful for both the pet and the adopter.
