Dana came to our rescue with four day-old boys. She was amazing mama, but now that her kittens have all been adopted, it's her turn to be spoiled! Most of her kittens were adopted over a year ago, but as it with happens with many mama kitties, no one has been interested in her. :(<br/><br/>She had a rough start, growing up in an apartment complex with too many stray cats. A good samaritan was able to grab her when she was being accosted by two male cats in the complex, and the rest is history!<br/><br/>Because of that harsh beginning, though, it will take time and patience to earn her trust. The way to earn her trust will be through toys - she LOVES to leap and chase; her favorite thing in the world is a string toy.<br/><br/>She will flirt from afar, with little chirps and a tentative dance that includes tiptoeing toward you, rolling on her side, then darting away. :p But once you earn her trust, there is nothing else like it. She will let you rub her belly while nuzzling your hand, and daintily lick a treat from your fingers. (Turn the sound on in the video to hear her squeaky little chirp - sorry about the foster mom’s voice, but she only talks when spoken to, lol)<br/><br/>Dana is also showing signs of wanting to be a lap (or at least a lap-adjacent) kitty, but with the other bossier cats in her foster home, it's hard for her to make space for herself.<br/><br/>She is a very low-maintenance, petite little girl who will make a great companion for an experienced cat person who enjoys helping shy kitties blossom to enjoy the safe, comfy indoor life after a life on the streets.<br/><br/>Dana is about 2.5 years old as of fall 2026. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
