Meet Damon

Please meet Damon,

When Damon first made his way to Luna’s House, we were worried that he would never be a candidate for adoption—but this dapper little gent has come such a long way!

Damon was abandoned outdoors in a carrier in March 2022 and was, understandably, absolutely terrified.  As a result, Damon was intensely fear-aggressive and we struggled to handle or even approach him for the first several weeks of his stay with us.

We worked with Damon patiently, giving him time to build confidence and learn to trust his human caretakers. We couldn’t blame our Tuxedo-wearing friend for his wariness…after all, he had been let down by the people who were supposed to love him most, his previous guardians. But we resolved to work with Damon until he was ready to find a home of his own. And we are happy to report that our man is ready to move on to the best chapter of his story!

We estimate that Damon is approximately 4.5 to 5 years of age (as of August 2023).  He is still easily over-stimulated, so he will need a home with cat-savvy family members who respect his boundaries. We anticipate that Damon will need a longer transitional period in a new home than most kitties, as he is a rather sensitive soul. His ideal forever family will be patient, gentle, and ready to adapt to Damon’s emotional needs. We have come to absolutely adore this sometimes-saucy fellow, and we know his Forever Family will feel the same way.

Damon has been successfully living with other cats in our Free Roam Room for several months.   He can, however, be a bit of a troublemaker, instigating shenanigans or scuffles with his roommates, so his adopters would need to be prepared to introduce him gradually to any current cats in their home.

Damon has presented with some issues with urinary crystals so he is now on a urinary specific diet which will need to be continued for the duration of his life. He is doing well on it but his new family will need to be sure he continues a medicated diet and they will have to monitor his litter box usage in order to make sure he continues to do well.

We feel that an adults-only household or one with gentle, respectful older children would be best for Damon.  We want nothing more than to set our boy and his new family up for a lifetime of happiness together.

If you would like to have the honor of giving Damon the loving home he truly deserves, please submit an online application at https://lunashouse.org/php_email_form/catformphp.html.  You can also contact us at catadoption@lunashouse.org

The adoption fee for a single cat through Luna's House is $125 and includes spay or neuter surgery, Rabies and feline distemper vaccines, deworming and flea treatments, FeLV/FIV Combo test and microchip.

If you are interested in adding one of our cats to your family you can email catadoption@lunashouse.org or APPLY online using the link on the website.
