Dale's Story
Dale is a black and white male with mask-and-mantle coloration, a black chin, pink nose and pink toe beans. While he was the last to leave the nest, he has made up for it exponentially by becoming as enthusiastic a greeter as his sister Prairie, as adventurous a climber as his brother Summit, and as determined a runner as his brother River. He gets the most exercise by running around after visitors and snugglers, looking for pats, hugs, or a lap to get comfortable in. He is a mighty hunter of feather toys of all sorts. He has proudly taken on a fully motorized feather toy, brought it to a stop, and then hopped around to try and drag it away in triumph, growling adorably. This little man is determined to be all the cat he can be, and would love to be a part of a household with one of his siblings or other cats to play and snuggle with.

Dale has a rare eye condition known as anterior segment dysgenesis, which means the surface of his eyes weren’t formed properly at birth. His eyes will always be cloudy and blue. Although he can see light/dark and movement, it’s like looking through foggy, blue-tinted glasses for them. The good news: No treatment necessary! There is nothing to fix. His eyes will never get better nor worse, and the color of their eyes will always remain that crystalline blue.

Dale also has deformities in both his legs, called congenital bilateral tarso-metatarsal luxations. His ankle joints are not properly connected so they move around in ways they shouldn’t and don’t fully support his weight when he walks. This results in a bilateral plantigrade hind limb gait. Dale gets around really well, runs, climbs, and fully uses his litterbox properly. He will be re-evaluated later to discuss whether to proceed with surgery or not. KKP will cover all costs associated with his follow-up and potential surgery.

Get to know Dale on his 24/7 livestream at kitkatplayroom.com/live.
