Daisy Mae's Story
Meet Daisy Mae!

Daisy Mae is a true rescue success story. When she was found outside, she was so tiny and frail that everyone thought she was a kitten. With some love, care, and plenty of good meals, she's blossomed into a healthy, adorable little cat with a big personality to match her big ears and curious eyes.

Now that she's safe and loved, Daisy Mae is making up for lost time-she lives for mealtime and still shows a little impatience while waiting for her food (a gentle reminder that she once had to fend for herself). It's not food aggression-just excitement from a girl who never wants to go hungry again.

After she's eaten, Daisy Mae is all about cuddles and companionship. She loves to be near her people and in the middle of whatever's going on. She gets along well with other cats and uses her litter box perfectly.

Daisy Mae does have a few quirks that make her extra endearing: she'll drag toys out of the basket just to show them off... but playing with them? That's optional.

Because of her feisty impatience around food, Daisy Mae would do best in a home without small children-but she'll make the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a cat with a survivor's spirit, a heart full of love, and a personality bigger than she is.

Small but mighty, Daisy Mae is ready to find her forever home-and a lap to call her own.

FOSTER-TO-ADOPT PROGRAM
Not sure if a particular pet will be the perfect match? Our Foster-to-Adopt program is the way to go FMCA's foster-to-adopt program is essentially a trial period so you can be sure your selection is a good fit for your home and family. This is especially helpful if you have other pets and children or just need more time to make a final decision.

FOSTER-TO-ADOPT PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
The Foster-to-Adoption program requires a fully approved application. Applicant must be 21 years old All applicants must complete an application, undergo a residency and vet verification plus a virtual interview/home visit prior to application approval. We also require a drivers' license, or other form of ID, for each adult in the household.

CAT ADOPTION APPLICATION
We process adoptions through ShelterLuv. The first step is to complete an application:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FMCA/Cat

If you do not have a specific pet in mind, please list a general description of what you are looking for, i.e. adult female cat or pair of kittens or unknown, etc. under the section titled "Which animals are you interested in?" This will allow us to quickly determine if we may have what you are looking for readily available or in one of our foster homes still going through the vetting process.

You will hear from us in the next few days. Please note, FMCA is an all-volunteer organization and most of our volunteers work full-time, so please be patient.

After an applicant is fully approved and an appropriate pet is selected, we will coordinate pet transfer. We will stay in touch to monitor during the two-or three-week trial period. If it's a go, we will finalize the adoption electronically. During the trial period, we are always available to help with items such as getting pets settled in, pet introductions and ways to help shy pets acclimate. If things don't work out, the pet will return to FMCA.

Please email us at info@fmca.org with any questions regarding the adoption process.
