Cupcake's Story
Cupcake
Status: Available or foster-to-adopt. Vetting complete

Gender: Female, spayed
Approximate age: 4-5 years old

Likes: rubbing up against your legs, playing rough, toys, dry food, hanging out around people.

Dislikes: wet food, being pet incorrectly, nail trims, being held

Personality: Cupcake has what we call "limited kitty minutes." This means she wants attention, but only on her terms. Sometimes, she only wants a few pets and then she's done. Other times, she will sit on your lap for hours. She is bossy so she needs a patient and understanding adopter.

Her previous owner taught her to play by using their hands so she has a hard time understanding that you're not always wanting to play and she might swat at you. She is usually gentle and doesn't use her claws and it's a form of play. We are working hard on correcting this behavior but this is why she cannot go to a home with young children.

She has been ok with other cats in our holding space, however, she was recently in a foster-to-adopt home with another cat and Cupcake consistently bullied the other kitty. As a result, we think she would do best in a home without other cats or dogs.

She loves toys and it’s a great way to bond with her!

Background: She was originally abandoned by her former owner as a young kitten when they moved. Cupcake and her father went to another rescue and unfortunately, the rescue had an outbreak of distemper and most of the cats in the space where Cupcake was, passed, including her father. Cupcake was one of the few survivors.

Vetting completed: spayed, rabies vaccine, full FVRCP series, combo test, and Rev+. Needs microchip, upon request.

Concerns:
Medical: None
Behavioral: spicy for no reason?

Intake date: 5/12/23 (before then from the other rescue)

Location: Holding space

Fee waived!

Adopt:
https://form.jotform.com/rightmeowrescue/adoption-application
