HISTORY: Shamis was found by a young girl near a store on a busy street in Cairo. She was hiding in a corner. It was clear she was not a street cat. She had been abandoned and was terrified and hungry. The young girl couldn’t take her home so she fed her and contacted some rescues in Egypt hoping one of them would take Shamis. One rescue answered the call and brought this beauty to their shelter.

PERSONALITY: Shamis is a quiet, sweet and gentle girl. Calm, easygoing and super affectionate, she loves to be cuddled hence, her name.

This lovely lass trusts humans. She can easily be picked up.

She will also snuggle up to you on the couch or in bed.

A gentle Soul, she is great with other cats and children as long as they are kind, calm and respectful of her (e.g. no pulling her tail or picking her up against her will).

She is a living doll.

She also adores watching the birds and squirrels as they go about their day so a window perch that offers a cat's eye view of the outdoors would be most welcome.

Typical of long haired breeds, Shamis will need to be groomed often to prevent matting.

IDEAL HOME ENVIRONMENT: This gorgeous girl would do well in a calm and peaceful home with or without another cat, with or without children.
