Cosmo's Story

Cosmo came to True North a little differently than the rest of his siblings. Most of the litter arrived together, but Cosmo stayed behind and came to us later, which meant he had a little more time without regular human interaction.

Because of that, Cosmo is currently the most cautious of the group. He spends a lot of his time hiding and watching from a safe distance, and he isn’t quite ready to trust people the way some of his siblings already have. But we’re working with him every day, giving him space, patience, and positive experiences so he can learn that people can be safe.

Cosmo is also the runt of the litter, and while he may be the smallest, he’s already shown that he has plenty of determination. Right now, he prefers to watch the world from a safe hiding spot, but we’re helping him build confidence at his own pace and giving him every opportunity to come out of his shell.

He is still very much a kitten underneath all that caution. We know there’s a playful, curious little personality in there — he just needs more time before he’s ready to show it.

Cosmo will need a patient, understanding adopter who won’t expect him to become a lap cat overnight. A quieter home and someone willing to let him progress at his own pace would likely be the best fit.

Cosmo isn’t asking for someone to rush him — just someone willing to give the smallest guy in the litter the time, safety, and love he needs to finally feel brave.

Please note: Cosmo is still too young to be neutered at this time. His adoption includes a required future neuter through True North Sanctuary, and his adoption will not be considered complete until the procedure has been performed.

Potential adopters are required to complete an adoption application and participate in our screening process to help ensure a safe and appropriate match. This may include veterinary reference checks, landlord verification when applicable, conversations with our team, meet-and-greets, and home visits or virtual home checks when appropriate. All adoptions are considered individually based on the needs of the animal and the adopter’s ability to provide a safe, stable, and loving lifelong home. Adopters must agree to provide appropriate veterinary care and return the animal to True North Sanctuary if they are ever unable to continue caring for them.
