Cordelia & Long John Silver's Story
Cordelia and Long John Silver are a deeply bonded duo who truly thrive together and must be adopted as a pair. They are 6-months-old and in a foster home, not at our shelter. They are incredibly people-oriented and very accustomed to being handled — these are cats who want to be part of your daily life, not tucked away in the background. The kitties greet you at the door, follow you from room to room, and love being wherever their humans are. Cuddly, affectionate, and always present, they only retreat during the loud interruption of the vacuum — and even then, they reappear quickly once the coast is clear. They have experience living with a respectful, cat-savvy dog and do well with calm canine companions who understand boundaries. Because of a rough start early in life, Cordelia and Long John have dealt with some minor but ongoing health considerations, including feline herpes virus (FHV). This is extremely common in cats, and veterinarians vary in their recommendations regarding whether cats with FHV should live with other cats. We encourage adopters to consult their own veterinarian to determine what feels like the best fit for their household. As a result of their early illness, both cats have eyes that tend to tear regularly. While this requires a bit of routine care, it does not slow them down or dampen their spirits in the slightest. Despite these minor health needs, Cordelia and Long John are truly exceptional companions — loving, gentle, social, and endlessly devoted. If you’re looking for a pair of kitties who will make your house feel like a home, these two will fill it with warmth, comfort, and affection. They are a two for one adoption deal--only $175 to adopt the pair! They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
