Copper's Story

Hi, I'm Copper! My foster mom says I'm one of the most laid-back cats she's ever met. I'm a quiet, easygoing girl who doesn't ask for much. I love being close to my human and keeping them company. I also absolutely love to be petted and brushed! I'm not a "pick me up and carry me around" kind of cat. I prefer to show my affection by hanging out or napping right beside you while you relax, read, watch TV, or work.

Because I'm such a calm girl, I'd do best in a quieter home. Young children can be a little too energetic for me. I can live with other cats, but I'm also perfectly happy being your one-and-only feline companion. I haven't spent much time around dogs. The one dog I met made me nervous, and I made sure he knew it! So if your home doesn't have dogs, that's perfectly fine with me.

One thing I'm especially proud of is being a mom. My foster mom says I was the best mama cat to my kittens. I always stayed close to them, watched over them carefully, and made sure they were taken care of before I thought about myself.

I can be a little shy when we first meet, but I warm up pretty quickly once I know I'm safe and loved. I've spent my life taking care of everyone else. Now I'm hoping to find someone who will love and care for me.

Almost Home's Adoption Requirements:
Be at least 21 years of age
Have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household
Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease)
Have a valid ID with current address
Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Almost Home Foundation
Be ready to make a lifetime commitment
Live in the suburbs surrounding Chicago (Illinois Residents only)
Pass a veterinarian reference check for current and past pets.
Adoption payment cash, check or Zelle only

If you are interested in Copper, please complete an online adoption application at https://almosthomefoundation.org/adopt/adopt-a-cat/ or email cats@almosthomefoundation.org.

*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash, checks, or Zelle for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***
